adjusting mirrors
I have a 99 F-250 SD lariat. The left mirror is adjustable, in and out for towing. The right mirror will not move in and out.
Should the right mirror be able to move in and out and if so, how do you take the mirror apart to check this movement?

Back in 99, the mirrors didn't move in and out. So obviously someone replaced the one mirror with a 00 or newer mirror. The 99 wide angle section didn't adjust either, which was a real pain in the butt because they weren't aimed for my tastes. If you don't like where the wide angle section is aimed, you can "adjust" it by wedging a popsicle stick under the mirror to force it in the direction you want. A little black paint or a permanent marker on the exposed part of the popsicle stick and you won't even know it's there. Or the best option is to add a set of C-betr mirrors, which are awesome mirrors for the Superduty truck.
