I have a few questions it would be great if someone could answer. I am looking at a 94 f350 xlt. First of all, what is the difference between the powerstroke 7.3 and the turbo diesel 7.3? and who makes the non powerstroke 7.3? Is it international? also, if a buy a banks package do they offer it for both motors? or do the parts fit both? also what kind a hp and torque im looking at, and if anyone could give me estimated fuel mileage,
In 94 there were two Diesels offered, both were International. The first was the IDI (indirect injection) 7.3L non turbo diesel. This diesel had a turbo as an option I believe. The other one offered is the Power Stroke 7.3L diesel. The Power Stroke is direct injection and all PSDs have turbos. The switch was made mid year 94. They are pretty easy to tell apart once you have seen both.
the powerstroke 7.3 is a hole differant motor then the turbo 7.3 the turbo 7.3 has a injection pump and injector nozzels a 7.3 has heli injectors and will produce more power and better fuel econ, they are both international motor and the only way to use a banks system is on apowerstroke 7.3 the other turbo 7.3 has a inj pump my brother has a turbo 7.3 and it always has fuel leaks in a 1 ton duelly i have a 3/4 superduty 7.3 powerstroke and i get about 20 mpg with cold air ind and superchip his if he gets lucky might get 8mpg hope this helps
I had a 94 psd before this one and it was great the only complaints was lack of room (the wife hated shoving kids into that extended cab) and it was a 5 speed other than that not a whole lot of differance than the one I have now oh and mine said turbo diesel on the side you have to look at the motors I'm pretty sure they didn't change decals untill 95
