Question Which Filter Flows More Air?

I currently have a homemade air intake I have used a K&N air filter with. My Question is which filter flows more air the K&N or the NAPA filter i cant remember the number 6637 maybe im not sure.

Their proably isn't much difference in the two. The K&N uses a more pourus filter(coated w/oil) to pull more air while the Baldwin(NAPA)just has more surface area. I don't trust the K&N for this reason. Plus I hate oiling the filter and all.

i'd rethink that, air flow isnt everything when talking about air filters. i mean if the filter isnt filtering everything out then why have one at all? the K&N may flow more but i garauntee the 6637 filters better! diesels just pull way too much air for a K&N

if you run the K&N just make sure you oil it on a regular basis. With the amount of air that the diesel sucks throught it it pulls the oil out pretty quick.

OK thanks, The reason I was asking this is because when I put this on I recieved no change in mileage and maybe only a little change in power.

I have seen this comparison before and there is another part to it. The ac delco is the best at filtering while the k&n is the worst. I really like the 6637 because I dont have to wait all day for the stupid filter to dry after I clean it.

Info was from AFE Pro Guard. They also showed a comparison on the amount of dirt that they let by, but he did not ask for that. If you want it, I can post the whole thing. I was just trying to provide info that was requested, not make a recomendation.

I had heard from the stealerships here in town, don't run the k&n because they don't filter enough. On here they call it dusting the engine. The k&n just can't hold up to the suction the diesel has!! I used to run the k&n in my gassers and my diesel until I heard it here and from the stealership. I also vote for the 6637 or equivilent.
