Flywest don't buy that overpriced magnet! You already have some out of your hard drive!!!
Try reading some of these articles first.
The author has a lot of political statements but in between there is some pretty interesting technical stuff.

Ok

I hear you Dan!
I won't be buying any more of them magnets knowing I can get them cheaper out of old hard drives thats for sure!

Thing is I have 3 turbo diesel trucks in the family, so will be uising quite a few of these fella's!

Also I'm about to embark on the waste mineral oil cleaning project and the bio D brewing project, so I think I'm going to be filtering and using magnets on a LOT of oil in weeks months to come so likely I'll use all the magnets I can find and then some!

I'm even thinkig a distilling white lightning to run the boat outboards on - my damn fuel/oil bils each year are astronomical so I think it will pay in the long run to become self sufficient!

My first priority is getting "Effie" ready for the long haul north in march first tho, so in a moment or two I need to head to town to check out this deep pan that my local autoparts "Ohh you mean the C6" guy has "found" for me to see if indeed it is the right one!

I know for a fact likely it won't have the temp sender port that some come out with - but I think (correct me if I'm wrong) there is a 'spare' port in the side of the transmission i can use for the temp gauge sender?

Least I'm hoping there is or this pan thats available will be no use to me!

There are days I feel like I need two of me!

Cheers!

There is a plug on the service port of the auto tranny just above the pan rail on the driver side where my gauge is hooked up to. Again, I doubt you need the big pan, maybe some other cooling but aside from that, fresh fluid should have you in good shape, chap.

There is indeed a port on the trans you can use for the temp gauge. It's on the driver's side, towards the front. Look in my Gauges gallery and you'll see a shot of it with my temp probe installed.

Just back from town!

Yup $1431 lighter on the plastic fantastic & I have me a alum deep trans pan, (With a temp sender port!) as well as a auxilliary trans cooler & a trans temp gauge and sender!

I keep modding this truck & pretty soon it will be fast enough for a gettaway truck to rob the banks I'm gonna need too - to pay for all the mods!

I guess there will be some more project pics from downunder comming up soon!

Cheers!

Sounds like fun.
And since you are highjacking your own thread...............
On the subject of Ale Houses: Ever heard of these guys?
http://www.vdelli.com/English/indexe.html
I found them on the internet several years ago, but they never come to the USA.
And another one of my Aussie favorites.

He has a new album out that I think really kicks.

Sadly for my ears Dan

I haven't heard of those couple groups, both Aussie (and one from my home state...but about 80 miles north of me!!)....however thats coz I'm "offical Band F Truck driver & roadie" for our own lil band - "Looking for Groupies @ Bandcamp"...

'Sadly for my ears' I say because they 'practice' (Jam I am told is the word - I have my own description for it) here at my place and I gotta tell ya it's drivin me nutso!

You will get some idea from the following I guess - my only excuse for getting suckered into this by my kids is I was promised all the free beer I could drink as the "roadie" - and any groupie gals they couldn't handle!

They even have their own forums - not that they use it much!

Heck we are hijacking a thread here but it's ours so what the heck - why hold back!

Cheers!

It's a up meets down thing!

The crazy guys n gals from largely Florida (and elsewhere Canada Holland etc etc) who hang out on my fishing web forum, decided to get all the west coast Florida crew to meet up with all the East coast Florida crew, for a flywest bash to meet and greet each other...starting tonight your time at the ale house and kicking on tomorrow inshore fishing and if the weather lays down tomorrow night sword fishing on the "dark side" (other side of the gulf stream...on the 50 fathom line) followed by a duck hunting jaunt Sunday morning for anyones still alive after tonight & tomorrows festivitys!

I ended up the "sponsor" somehow of these shennanikins!
They are good folks - so heck why not!

I'm trying to get into party mode - but we're 12 or more hours a head so I may have the jump on them it seems! I guess I have a certain responsibility to try and keep some sorta eye on them! From half a world away - this could take some doing!

Methinks by Monday - there will likely be a "Flywest wanted dead or alive poster" on every law enforcement bulletin board from the keys to NYC!

Could be an interesting weekend! Just hope I don't have to post bail for any of them!

Cheers!
