anyways I just recently checked out the front end of this thing and i come to find out that it needs pretty much everything... ball joints, tie rods, rotors, i think one caliper is frozen, and more....
My question is... should i waste all this money and replace it all or should i just convert to a soild axel now? I planned on doing it sometime later and I plan on lifting it hopefully. I head that the 99+ soild axles will swap in... and insight or opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
No there are no bolt difference on 97 down single wheel F350 . As for the newer axle I thought they did change bolt pattern . but all trucks I run are duelly and rims are different. good luck
The swap should be straight forward to the point that it is a direct bolt in. The newer body style superdutys use a metric pattern for the bolt pattern and also are hub centered and not bolt centered. I also recall ford used a locating rod/trackbar on the front axle at some point on the leaf sprung solid fronts.
