krochus was it a retarded squad car, i hate chevies but old cop cars are so hot rodable. sorry i meant that i fundamenatally hate chevies. I like cars that some poor schlub like myself has built , restored, hot rodded etc. so just because i hate the fact that it was a chevy it is still cool. Hell how can a turd that wants to make his 86 chy. 5th ave. into a beemer killer, once his duster is done talk about anyone elses ride. i bought those cragar super 8 wheels for my duster, i'm kinda going for a circle jerk look, and that was the only way to get the look and use modern 17 in rubber. I think they will look great with a red stripe like a bart or bassett. i didnt buy the center caps to maintain the image.
that was pretty cool but you better get that off there before someone nut punches us. They kinda tolerate my mopar muscle car love but, i always feel as though i should keep it low key lol, dan
If they want to get into their "Pat Benatar" mode,I've been threatened with worse!
Well I wasn't trying to turn this isn't the Dodge/Plymouth Aspen/Volare love forum. Really I just saw the ad for it and wanted to hurl. Soccer moms can't have so much money that they'd be willing to trade in their Caravans for a butchered up and maligned car from the 70's that was actually useful.
Next thing you know Dodge will come out with the Fury 3 as a light pickup!

The "Fabulous Hudson Hornet" was raced with much success by Marshal Teague in the early 1950's. It used a 308 CID flathead in-line six with "Twin H-Power", or, two carbs.
Well, back to what I think was the original topic...
I actually drove one of these things (Chrysler had test-drives at the Boston Auto Show), and I have to say I was impressed by it, for what it was. It reminded me of a Lincoln Navigator ('01) that I drove once, and seemed very manageable for it's size. I don't want one, but if I was in the market for a big luxury SUV, it would be high on my list.
I agree that it's rather a stupid name, but not because I feel the new SUV will tarnish the name "Aspen." I don't know about the rest of the country, but up here in snow (and salt) country, the Aspen/Volare twins are remembered only for their remarkable ability to rust into oblivion in no time at all.
