I'm new to the site, new to diesels and have really enjoyed the information I've read to date. I used the info from you all to purchase the TS 6 position chip when I was previously thinking about the Superchip programmer. I haven't received it yet, and I'm not sure how to install it, but based on everyones posts, I'm sure I'll be pleased.
Anyway, I was pheasant hunting this past weekend and got into some pretty rough terrain. My brother reached for the "Oh $$#!" bar above his head and then proceeded to chew me out for not having one. After I told him to get out and walk, we noticed that there isn't nary a one in the front or back. I've already paroused (sp?) multiple websites as well as about 10 pages of forum topics on this site. Can someone please help?
I don't know the how too's and I am also interested in adding some hand holds (my pregnant wife would really like it) Hopefully somebody will have a link for us.
there another pics for ya but I like the previous pictures that I posted. Looks like it another weekend at the junk yard! spent an hour there last weekend just looking around!
tjbeggs, I don't have a link, but I used A pillar grab handles out of an 02 or 03 Expedition. I just had my wife stand next to the truck and reach up to see where they needed to be. I then marked the top and bottom of the handles on the A pillar trim with a pencil. I cut out a sideways D shaped piece for each handle to go through (that was the shape of the handles that I used, others could be different). I then put the A pillar trim back in place, held the handles up and marked the bolt hole in each handle on to the A pillar itself. I then drilled a hole in the A pillar large enough (with some filing) to take a nut that would fit on the mounting bolt. I then covered the dash, floor, and seats and mig welded the nuts flush with the A pillar surface and ground off any burrs. Once it was cool, I re-installed the A pillar trim and did a test fit with the handles. I had to put some small pieces of foam rubber under the A pillar trim to space it out some to make the handles have a perfect fit, then I bolted it in place, and was done. The wife and grandson loves it.
