I've got an '04 Supercab XLT with the 235/75/17 stock tires, and plan on getting new tires soon. I'm hoping to put 265/70/17 on, but haven't gotten a chance to have that size fitted. Can anyone tell me if this size will fit without having to make any modifications to the truck?
I just put 305/65/18 on my 06' SCREW FX4. On my old 03' FX4 i put 285/70/17 and that truck did not have the clearance that the new 04-07 f-150s have so you will have no problems and will not have to make any modifications.

You could go as high as 285/70/17 without modification, so your 265/70/17 would work.
Thanks for the reply. I was pretty sure it would fit, but it's tough to tell just by looking at it. Just wanted to make sure the tires wouldn't rub and that I wouldn't have any trouble with the handling.
if the height is way different you may need to get your speedo re calibrated, i just changed mine from the same size you have to the fx4 wheels and 275 65 18 good year silent armors and they were deffinatly taller tires but i checked with a gps and my mph was right on the money wityh my speedo.
Thanks for your help guys. I'll probably end up going with the 265/70. I thought about getting the level kit done and putting 285/70 on the 17" stock rim, but I don't want the tire to get too much of a bubble look. 285/70 on a 7.5" wide rim is going to look like it's going to pop off at any second. Has anyone actually seen the 285/70 on the stock rim? I'm curious as to what it looks like.
I had 265/70R17 Continentals on my '06 Screw XLT. They were great. In fact, I still have those tires and factory 17" alloy rims. The tires have under 500 miles and the rims are about a year old. I'm having a real hard time selling them, and I'm asking cheap. I changed tires because I put a 6" lift on...33s and new wheels.
You'll like the 265s alot, though. They are a great fit for a stock suspension truck.

Look at my gallery, you'll see a 285/70/17 on a stock 7.5" wide rim. I don't think it has a bubble look at all.
