Right............plus they were only rated to tow 7100 pounds.

Definitely a 7/8 truck.

The content sticker on my truck at delivery said 90% North American content. Admin note: see our guidelines about language I can email a copy to you if you like. I know it's a global economy. I am all for that. I want fair trade. What is wrong with that? Why do you not understand that? You been smacked with the stupid stick too much? Or you just can't read or comprehend? Why would you think that unfair trade is good? Why do you want to see japan with unfair trade advantages and protectionist policies? What don't you understand about this? Of course you can't avoid buying things that are foreign. DUH. But you can pick and choose. Enough people do this and it will put pressure on countries to be good global economic citizens. Or are you to stuck on yourslef to see it?

What exactly is North American content besides Canada and the US?

You talk like the US are angels when it comes to the global ecomony. I'm from Canada, remember the country that took jobs with our cheap labour to build YOUR cars I recall how you put it. Didn't our government have to settle for only 5 billion dollars of softwood lumber that the US never paid for when it was almost twice that amount. We still haven't recieved a dime. I'm not turning the into a US vs the world debate because the thread it already off topic, it was for a moment and then......I'm just stating every country tries to get the best deal for less. Evenually if Toyota does take over the world, you don't think the US will do the same thing that Japan is doing right now to boost their economy, oh wait toyota's are built in the US so that can't happen.

I am all for America taking over the world. I want us to have all the advantages. That is how it is played. Why would I sell out my own country? I am guessing your as fond of Canada as I am of America? So why would a give quarter to any other country? That is how America got to be where we are. And yet at the same time we suport and give aid to more countries in the world than anybody. There has never been such a generous country on earth. Yet our citizens are willing to take it up the rear from other countries.

yeah... I can see that you have no pride in America. Anything goes and it is all America's fault. Because you have no cohesive answer. Because you can't argue against unfair trade practices. Admin note: see our guidelines about language Your afraid to stand up for America.

The only fool here is the one that won't see that the answer has been given numerous times.

I have plenty of pride in America...........just not an isolationist (edited by Admin)

If Ford and GM can trade with the Asians.........nevermind, you're too dense to grasp it, regardless of how many times it's explained.

What size trailer was it bit at all? the truck weighs a good 5000 hundred pounds. V8 in that Tundra? I got a V6 ford that tows well at 65. big or small loads it seems to be gravy. slopes and all over you should have towed the Tundra and drive the 1969 F250 that thing would have been better. how far did you have to tow it at 35, I wouldint be able to handle a tow like that might as well get a actual horse.

I'm both patriotic to Canada and the US. I have family living in California and Texas. And I agree with you that both Canada and US are very generous countries when it comes to aid. But don't forget that the US needed our help when Hurricane Katrina hit, ( god bless the souls lost ) and we send aid to the US when needed.

You may not want to give a quarter to any other country but someday it might be that country sending aid to help you in a crisis and by looking at Canada's and the US ecomony, we are hardly taking it up the rear. Yes we don't have the perfect economies but personally I'm not living in poverty and my kids have never gone hungry.

So you bought a Ford that was possibly built in another country and just because you bought it in the US it's considered supporting your country. When possibly Ford alocates profits to other branches ( eg. Jag, Volvo ) that are based overseas to help them out. Not all profits stay in the US. By the way I own 2 Fords and they have done me well regardless of where they were built. To me the blue oval stands for quality and spending my hard earned money on a product I can trust, not that it was assembled in Canada or the US.

And yet Toyota wants to build plants, create jobs, pumping more money into the US economy and that's thought of as wrong?

SORRY FOR THE LONG POST EVERYONE!

Now we are waaayyyyyyy off topic, my head hurts.........

___

But if every one bought American as much as the could until the japanese allowed our factories there, I wouldn't have a problem with it. And if every one bought American, our car factories would be busy beyond belief. There would be no layoffs from Ford or gm.

BTW... I am sure every American thanks Canada very much for the aid for katrina. We are greatful. It is interesting that the American government doesn't give as much as others... but the American people give more than anyone in the world to help other people, for a net giving more than any other country. If the socialists get to be in charge, I am afraid that will change.
