Loaded and ready heading out this afternoon- Sounds like you guys are hitting some good trails but sucks with all the recent rain. Thanks for the heads up on the possible closings and the internet locations. Sucks that we are a week behind you guys. Still wont hit Buena Vista until sunday as we are doing some sight seeing in the Colorado Springs areas.
I emailed you a contact # in case you get in the Buena Vista area- maybe we can get together and do some wheeling. I think you were planning to run Ouray correct? but in case on the way to or from. Mike
We drove up to Leadville to do Mosquito yesterday. Stopped at the intersection above the lakes to lock in the lockouts and let Curtis air down.
Skeeter bit "Green" and all the R134 went away up to destroy ozone. Don't know what happened. Just parked on the side of the trail, shut it off, and locked in the hubs. Went to talk to Curtis and Dennis when wooooooshaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. I hadn't even been running the AC or Defroster.
Went back to camp after skeeter and packed up and drove home last night. The heat today would have killed me with no AC. I made it home about 5:00 AM. Woke up yesterday with Dennis's cold. Curtis and Dennis were sleeping in the same tent so I understand how Curtis caught the cold. Still can't figure out how I did.
We are in Colorado Springs- but overheated the tranny some so am hoping to still make it to Buena Vista tomorrow and home! Either way am looking forward to get out and see the trails. Mike
Hope you have as much fun as we did. Don't beleive anyone could have more.
I have a bad cold and can just make out the puter screen. Couldn't even read the gas pump in Pratt on the way back early Saturday morning. Even with my glasses.
Just got back!! Wow what a trip... Anyone who had hesitations about going ....
YOUR LOSS!! One of the best trips in my life. I had to go to a family reunion friday, sat, and Sunday .. Guess what I found out I have relatives that live in St. Elmo and Nathrop. :-)
Nope no A/c and with the delays, I was in 100+ degree heat some of the time. Carolyn got a flat tire on the way home Sunday, so instead of being home at 9:00am we got home at 14:00... (and she put a insecticide sprayer in the front seat of the exploder... it spilled, so not only was it 100+ driving down the road, My eyes where burning...) But every one and everything is home!! I'm on call and with the way things are looking I will have enough in overtime to pay for the little extras in the trip that I didn't count on.
