Master Cylinder

I know that this is the Ford TRUCK Site and I usually use it for exchanging info about my TRUCK, but I came across a 59 Fairlane that I'm trying to put back together. To make a long story short, will the master cylinder off of a 59 (57,58,60) truck fit my Fairlane? There are 4 bolts on the firewall and does anyone have an extra one?

Hey Chris, I'm not sure if it will fit a Fairlane, but the part # for the F-100 master cylinder is: B9C-2140-A if that helps you.

Did some further checking, and looks like different part number for car (B5A-2140). This site might help you: http://www.cgfordparts.com

I don't think the truck unit will fit because on the truck the pushrod is centered on all four bolt holes, whereas on the car it is centered on the two bottom holes. The spacing on the bottom two bolt holes is the same as later Ford (example mid 70's Mustang) if you want to swap to a dual master cylinder. You do have to make a new pushrod and plumb the system.

In case you are interested, there's a master cyl for a 52-57 Ford car on Ebay right now for fairly cheap!

I just searched e-bay and all I could find are nos repair kits. I wouldn't buy an nos repair kit because the rubber seals are usually dry rotted anyway. It would be a great help if you could send the url to the ad that you saw.

Thanks
