I've not used BG on anything in my powerstroke, but I used to work at a GM dealership and we used it all the time. Most of it was great. Especially the fuel system stuff. We did powersteering flushes with it and tranny flushes with it, and while the flush worked well, I think the BG products we used in the flushes did nothing.
BG is a company that makes all of these different products that a lot of dealerships use in a lot of flush machines and services- ex. throttle body cleaner, injector cleaner, tranny flush, Powersteering flush etc. I'm not sure what the letters BG stand for- but I think that they recently bought out Wynns - another company that makes similar products.
Thanks for the responses. I've used some of their products in my gas vehicles but not in my PSD (yet). I'm thinking about finding a shop that can perform their Diesel injection service.
I was told once that the "BG" referred to bearings and gears as pictured on their product containers and logo. They are known for their friction reducing additives and cleaning agents. I have had good results with all their products I have used.
I prefer to take my stuff apart and clean it. I suppose the TB cleaners which fog the system do something. Injector cleaning I don't know. I have usually taken mine out and sent them out for inspection and cleaning. I know that others swear by Diesel Purge where they hook up the intake and return lines to a bottle of the stuff to make their own fuel tank and claim it has all sorts of black crud in it. IMO, I'd rather take it out every so often and test it than to use the stuff and hope all is well.
