New Fuel?

What effects does this new ULSD have on our older 7.3 and even the 6.0s. I am hearing of some issues with pumps and injectors. I haven't had any problems with mine but I always use fuel treatment on every fillup. Also what is the max boost I should be running on my truck. I have AFE progaurd 7 air intake, Bully Dog 4" Turbo back Exhaust, Superchip, and ATS Triple Disc Torque converter, on my 99 Supercab 4X4 Dually. I am wanting to put a wastegate mod on it but I can reach 30 psi on my Bully dog Outlook.

Minimal. However, the ULSD has removed the aromatics from the fuel. These aromatics are what caused o-rings to swell in the fuel systems. By introducing ULSD, the o-rings can shrink causing fuel leaks. The weak point on the 7.3L's is the fuel bowl drain valve o-rings. Quite a few people have had to replace theirs in the past few months. It appears that older PSD's and/or higher mileage engines are affected the most.

I'm assuming you have the stock turbo. Above 25 psi, the exhaust drive pressures are at least double the pressures on the compressor side. This huge imbalance can wear out the turbo in very short order. You should adjust your wastegate to try and control the boost levels and prevent them from going over 25 psi. Or you can drop in a TN or BB replacement unit and go with as much boost as you want without worrying about the turbo flying apart.
