hope some one can help i left for work this morning and the clutch went all the way to the floor so i couldnt shift any ideas what might of happened or what to look for? maybe the linkage? or a spring? hellpppp!!!!! thanks
its a 2002 the thing is it worked fine saturday but this morning when i was headed of to work the clutch pedal felt real soft and i had trouble getting it into gear. so i went out again this morning and i can drive it and shift it fine as long as i am real gentle on the clutch i thought maybe the push rod may need adjustment and im not really sure if its hydraulic or not. because im not much of a mechanic in terms of clutches and stuff but any help would be appreciated.
Sounds like your slave cylinder is leaking. Thes clutches are hydraulis and when the fluid goes down you cant shift. Check under your truck right under transmission if theres fluid there thats what it is. Also check the master cylinder on the firewall if its low thats another sign. Note not a fun job to replace I had to pull trans and do it I changed my clutch plate etc while it was off.
yea i checked for leaks by the transmission and there isint any sign of leakage, the master cylinder is still full so now im not sure what could be wrong . i guess the next thing would be to bleed the master cylinder . i sure hope it isint the slave cylinder. but ill give it another go around here. thanks.
after further review i am now sure its the slave cylinder there was a small amount of fluid coming out once i removed the plastic inspection cover there was more. now its time for the fun to begin. lol thanks folks for your advice.
boy ya aint kidding it not fun to do ... lots of bolts.... but its going smoothly so far. only problem im having is removing the line to slave cylinder it suppose to be spring loaded push it in and at the same time pull out but it isint workin for me oh well back to the drawing board.
