Talking Hello Everyone!

Another FNG here! I became the delighted new owner of an '07 F150 SuperCrew last weekend!

Said some bad words tonight because I backed into a mailbox during a storm and damaged the tailgate. So now I have to fix/replace the tailgate and my neighbors mailbox. <grrrr>

I'm absolutely going to add a Roush street catback to the truck, and I am seriously considering the Roush IC/SC, and sort of considering the Roush suspension kit. From browsing it appears that there is no way around the speed limiter with the Roush tune? Anyone with any/all of those combos or a full blown Roush care to comment on their satisfaction level?

Best regards to all,

StarJack

Actually it did, but I discovered tonight those are worthless in this situation, as there are only two of them, one on each end of the bumper. I was backing almost straight back, and the mailbox pole was near the middle of the bumper, and the sensors never went off. Had I been in my former superduty, which had 4 of the sensors, this likely would not have happened.

that's why you don't trust electronic gadgetry. someone lurking around in the forum has a really cool rear camera setup. alot nicer than the beeping annoyance and it actaully looks functional

you going to put a big orange flag on that mailbox to keep from nailing it again?

Hey Starjack, welcome to the forums. I have what you said and I love it. I dont have the suspension kit though I do have the rear lowered 2 1/2 inches. Volume of catback is low but a mean growl comes from it. As far as the i/c-s/c....go for it, nothing compares to the power. The tune from Roush isnt the most agressive and the speed limiter is still there. So are the rev limiters. I use it as a daily driver and wanted the warranty on the powertrain so until it is up(25k miles) I will enjoy it as is. Dont get me wrong, it rocks and is a go fast.

Not that it matters much, but there are 4 sensors, the inner two blend into the black plastic. Nice looking truck too!

Well, I guess I better check to make sure the flippin' things are working. I going to ask the neighbor if I can put a reflector on the front of his mailbox since I'll be replacing it for him. The MB is directly across from my driveway, I usually pull out front first but I was in a hurry in bad weather, backing out, and NOT paying attention. In the end, I deserved this, but that doesn;t make me feel any better! (lol)

Thanks for the comments and information everyone!

Yeah the sensors were on, they're just not much good if you're already lined up with a narrow object that's between two of the sensors. If I'd turned the wheel just a little, they would have probably warned me in time. Thanks!

Depending on how fast you were backing up the sensors may not have been working. They only work up to a certain speed. I don't remember how fast that is but it you look in your owners manual it will tell you. So you may have just been going to fast for them to work. I haven't had any problems with mine, I also have a camera to see what it's beeping at. Those sensors beep at everything on my truck, curbs, brush and other stuff.

You what drives me NUTS is that if you have the tailgate down and put it in reverse it beeps, even when nothing is there. I am assuming that's why you can turn them off??
