get one custom welded that mounts where the tow hooks are and has 2 supports running through the grill to mount on the frame. you won't find anything like that on the market. that'll keep it from flexing backwards into the bumper/grill
I guess you could look into getting one of those police bull bars. they're ugly though and i think they mount just like the Westin one does.
It does serve as a good place to mount lights as Ferguson said. Because they do attach to were the tow hooks are I would feel comfortable pulling something that isnt too heavy but pushing I wouldnt try. I have managed to already hit a few things in the woods since putting my bull bar on and I feel that it saved the bumper from a few scratches at least. You can get good prices on ebay for the westin bull bar so if even its for looks I think its worth it. Check my gallery for pics of mine.
I wouldn't really recommend pulling with it either as it's really only held upright by 4 bolts, and anything heavy would more than likely just cause the bolts to slip. Why would you want to scratch it up anyway? I have pics in my gallery of mine also.

By the way Ferguson, your pics are one of the main reasons I put on my bull bar. Thanks for the pics, the truck looks great.
If you want a real HD bullbar/bumper look at www.ranchhand.com It is the bumper of choice in the plains/Texas... good for just about everything but gas mileage.
Cobra and Ferguson those bars look great on your trucks, i was thinking of getting one. Now i think i have too. It should look good on mine when its lifted 6'' too.

Thanks. For sure it will look good. When you lift it definitly post some pics!
Well i figured if i was goin to buy something that looks tough, it should be tough, i wanted something so if i ran into something, wouldn't hurt much but the bar.. oh well though
Question on these bull bars... I'm seriously debating one as well but, I had read that you may have to cut somewhere on the bumper?? Maybe above the tow hooks?

Thanks for the compliments guys. I post lots of pictures so that I can help others make decisions as to if they want that mod.
Shaq, the westin bullbar is 100% bolt on for the 4x4's. The 2wd does not have tow hooks, so the holes in the lower valance are not cut out. If you have a 2wd, you would either need to cut them out or swap out the 2wd lower fascia for a 4wd one.
If you guys don't mind me asking how much did you pay for your bull bars? The one i found on www.4wheelparts.com was $449 for chrome (which i want) and $349 for black. Is this about what you guys paid? Also where did you get yours? Thanks
