Check engine light- Displays at regular intervals?

Check engine light- Displays at regular intervals?
Hello all,
My 2004 v10 Superduty had the check engine light come on a few days ago at 29,334 miles. Will the truck display this light near regular maintenance intervals such as 30,000/60,000/90,000 even without a maintenance problem?
There is no known performance issue with the truck and have checked the gas cap and run the truck on three separate days without the light going back out. Any info would be appreciated!
