Carb adjustment

I recently switched my points out for a HEI system, now when my truck is running if i stand out side i will reek og burnt fuel. Does anyone knows if I need to adjust my carb the carb is less than a year old.

Carb adjustment

Have you tuned the HEI for the truck ? Did you have the problem prior to the ignition installation ? The raw fuel can be from alot of diffrent problems. With the new system you can usually open the plug gap, try .050 that might help some. Is the timing correct for your truck with the new ignition? Do you have a carb adjustment for the air fuel mixture ? Has that been done yet? Also what is the engine size and the CFM of the carb ? The type of carb ? There are alot of things to try, start with the easy stuff and work your way up. Keep us updated someone will be able to help with some more information.

Carb adjustment

I changed my plugs to split fire plugs and gapped them at .050, its running a lot better and the fumes are almost completely gone. Thanks for the info.
