1949 Mercury Masters, I need your help A.S.A.P.!!!!!

I am going to look at a 1949 Mercury tomorrow, and I would like to know if there is anything I should keep my eye open for. This truck has had the original flathead rebuilt along with the tranny, and the body has be completely done. The only thing this truck requires is some exhaust work (tail pipes), interior finishing, and a fresh paint job. He is asking $1200.00 for this machine. Is it a good price? And how easy is it to get parts for this year of truck? I need your input A.S.A.P.
Thank you

As long as you've got all the Merc emblems, everything else is common to the rest of the forty-nines. These trucks are scarce even here in Alberta, so if the body is good make your best offer.

If the engine is original, the stoke should be 4" rather than the 3.75" on the fords. It should produce more than 100hp, 115hp I think. I sounds like a good buy.
