Looking for a 49
I was wondering if anyone on here has a 49. It probly is or came out of West Virginia, near hardy county. Last I heard it was red I belive restored with a flat head. I have a vin and if you pm me I will send it to you. It was my great grand fathers and was just insterd to see if it is still around. Thanks

well I am not shure. I know my great grand father sold it to a guy who restored it. I heard that he sold it after words. I thought I would see if anyone on here might by chance have it. Thanks for the interest.

You should go to one of the chapters board on this site that covers West Virginia. Some one there might have it or know of some who knows some one. It's a long shot but it doesn't cost anything.

Post the VIN #. There's nothing really sacred about it. In fact the first thread in this forum (red sticky thread at the top) has tons of them in it. I've collected almost 300 of them trying to find the cutoff between the 49's and 50's. I'd be happy to check and see if I've come across your grandad's truck yet.

97HC 325131 was for sale on ebay out of Hurricane, WV back on 5/1/06. I have it listed as an unfinished project with the original FH V8 which can't be right because fo the 97HC prefix. Problem with this one is that it's 50 and not a 49.
If you give up the VIN, we may be able to tell you for certain that it's a 49. there is some gray area bewteen many 49 and 50's.
