Yes the weather for the winter has been unbelievable. It is nice to see someone making progress with their project. I make progress on everyone elses and not my own. Our second and his wife are expecting Feb. 14th so I hve been asked to make a rocking chair for the baby's room. Got started this past week. Grandpa has got to help out too. Keep up the good work on the truck.

Tracy,
Wow! Good for you! the frame is really looking good.

I managed to make a little progress, sorta truck related. I got a 60 gallon vertical compressor for X-mas so I need to make a space for it in the garage and wire a 220V outlet from my circuit breaker panel. So, taday I spent some time in the shed cleaning and moving stuff around so that I can take a bunch of the crap thats in the garage and move it to the shed, then I can rearrange things in the garage so I can mount the compresser near the circuit breaker panel (I have got to start throwing stuff away!)

Tomorrow I'm gonna move garage crap out to the shed, and get the compressor in position and wire up a 220 circuit breaker in the panel.

Hope you make some more good progress tomorrow too
Bobby

I completed the body filler work on the hood, fenders and cowl between Christmas and New Year. I started fitting up the gravel shield today. I'm running a fiberglass shield and no bumper. I rigged it and drilled some cleco holes and matched the end gaps between fenders and gravel shield. There was a lot of filling to do there as I had nasty tapered gaps. Came out nice.

Tomorrow, I'll cut out and smooth the parking light recesses. I haven't done any fiberglass work before. I should also finish all the contour work at the corners and have it ready for primer.

Next week, I start the cab, doors and drip rail. I'm getting closer to paint every weekend.

Hahahahah! Good going guys. I'm not going to be able to undertake ANY little projects for a while unless the instructions start out with: Shovel a tunnel to the garage doors. Build a large fire for warmth....

Ohhh...I had a huge project on my 56 today!

I took the spare tire off the mount. I guess tomorrow will be another big day. I get to put it back on.

Well, *I'm* impressed! Thanks again for the pics, Brian. That lets me know exactly how the mount has to be placed and I appreciate the effort it took.

I changed a radiator and thermostat today - on my wife's 96 Jeep Cherokee. It's been so long since I wrenched on an old truck .............. The newer stuff keeps wearing out. Oh well, keeps the tools from getting rusty.

On the other hand the 48 fired right off this afternoon. It just won't quit.

Take care Nuthin', just stay warm. Spring is coming, days are getting longer...... lol

Mildest winter I can remember, and I can't do much of anything. The contractors have taken over my garage and driveway. Everywhere else is ice. But atleast I'm getting my plans in order, lol.

Progress for me came in the form of learning hammer & dolly work. I traveled from Ohio to North Carolina with my friend Mike to learn some new skills. Today we repaired the passenger side rear quarter panel with AXracer. He taught us the finer points of hammer and dolly work to remove a crease and to reform the flare which goes around the rear fender well. Once the hammer and dolly work was completed, he showed us how to shrinking work with his shrinking disk. I was amazed at how well the repair came out. We then removed Grace's drivers door and driver's front fender. Under the po it seems that the door was sprung and created a seam down the cowl panel. We removed the paint and bondo which was from the seam at the window line clear down to the bottom of the panel. At this point we decided to clean up and go to Kemps Seafood for dinner. When your from Ohio you think Red Lobster is sea food. I now know better. The portion was huge and the food outstanding. Service was very good also so if your in the Durham area stop by for great food. In my mind today was a huge step in my love of ford trucks, now I will remove dents instead of filling them. Our old trucks have plenty of metal to hammer, dolly and shrink back to original.

Nuthin,

We actually had some sunshine today, the temps got above 40 for a bit. I spent a good part of the day scraping the 4" of ice from the driveway so that the little woman wouldn't be cranky when she got home (ok, ok, thats what I told her but the real reason is so that I can get my truck out of the garage tomorrow and get my compressor installed.....don't tell her).

ksmith,

Very cool! It sure sounds like you are having fun and learning lots. Very cool!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the people on this site are awesome!!!

Looks like we're about the same stage. I only got a couple of hours in today because of work. I'm fighting with the rear spring bushings. Took a couple of leaves out, but suffering with those bushings and the U-bolts. My rear bushings were so worn out the pins were almost in half and took a hellacious sledge to get them out. Front end is done, cheated and went with the CPP disc brake kit on it.
