hey gents, my stock exhaust on my 89 f150 rotted out on the tailpipe end of the muffler, the outlet to the tailpipe is completely gone so the tailpipe is just suspended in the hole... anywho, im replacing the system once i get the appropriate funding. im looking at the dual exhaust package for the american thunder series from flowmaster. thing is that i have a 300 4.9L L6 and was wondering if anyone has any predictions on how itll sound with that engine. im getting the system regardless cause im eventually doing an engine swap to a 302 unless i can get my hands on a 351w... ill post some pictures of the "damage" once i get a chance, its kinda funny lookin in an odd sort of way. let me know what you think
got a pic today of the muffler, while i was under the truck i also found a crack in the tailpipe at the first hanger after the muffler, looks like the hanger and the tailpipe fused then pulled the section apart from the rest of the tailpipe... take a look

Mine did the same thing. I just put a dynomax ultraflow and supertrap disc on.
Here's the cool thing, your 2 cubic inches shy of a 302. The biggest difference is the exhaust pulses, you have fewer, but more gases per. So it should have a nice throoty sound with a short pause between them.
