No problem..in that top pic.. the flash faded out which link goes to what tab the straight one goes from the front shifter "tab" to the straight one on the bottom back..and the bent one goes from the back shifter "tab" to the bent one on the top at the back.

Man thats VERY good news, but also bad news. It seems thats the way we had it hooked up, but theres too much binding. So now I get to figure out whats wrong.. But man am I happy to know atleast how its meant to be hooked up and that I do have the correct brackets!

Yeah no prob. BTW the book also has a blown apart view of the transer case if you need it for rebuilding it I'd be more than happy to find a way to scan it and send you a pic of that as well.
