I was told the #49007 power pack exhaust kit was no longer available. I could only get the downpipe #52103, as they still will manufacturer them, even though they are not shown in the catalog. I then got an exhaust kit for a 94 powerstroke that adapted from the bottom of the downpipe to 4" and went 4" all the way back.
jbm6900 have you turned up your fuel at all? If so how far?
I was thinking of turning mine 45 to 60 degrees (rotation of the wrench).
94 Turbo IDI: Banks PowerPack Exhaust p/n 49007 3in to muffler 3 1/2in beyond. No firewall mods., Turn up the pump, K&N filter. Not difficult or expensive. BIG improvement. 9psi boost @ full throttle. Powers/Pulls A 12,000lb service truck daily....
Hello, I am curious as to your exhaust temps? Thanks, david
It's been a few years since I bought the system & did the mods. If I remember right, I gave the pump 1/2 ~ 3/4 turn. Just watch your exhaust, it'll freight train if you give it too much fuel. On a good pull, pyrometer will hover @ 1050 deg. You may or may not know this, but ford detuned these engines so as not to compete with the new at that time powerstrokes. I simply brought mine up to it's potential. With the added bonus of: No Electronics!

Don't get me wrong, I love my IDI's
BUT, When the PSD came along with it's electronics, it also brought along a bunch of those pesky horsepowers and torques.
Yes, Horsepower & Torque are 2 wonderful things.
But i've seen too many on the side of the road & in repair shops.
Reliability is also a biggie 4 me.
If only I didn't have that pesky E4OD.....
I'm dreaming of a Ford truck with A Cummins diesel & a Allison trans..........
The best quote I've heard in a long time was a guy beaming about his new diesel....I just bought a brand new Cummins!! Only thing is it came with a Dodge.
