6" Fabtech - Before & After

This is my '06 SCREW before mods.

This is my 2WD after a 6" Fabtech, 33.5 Terra Grapplers, and 17X9 American Racing Craters.

So for those of you contemplating the Fabtech lift, this is what you can expect. So far I'm happy with the look and feel. I'm putting step bars on this weekend. My wish list now consists of Magnaflow exhaust, cold air intake, 3" body lift, and 35s. Wish me luck!

I probably could fit 35s with some trimming, but I'm not ready to do any trimming. I was back and forth with my tire selection. I wanted 35s, then I wanted 33s, then everyone said 33s would look goofy, then I went back to 35s, then I got worried about trimming...so I went with 33s. I think they look and feel fine.

you would rather put on the body lift than to trim a little ???? i just think that body lifts opens a small can of worms. you have the issues of frame gaps, new bumperbrackets, linkage extensions, and of course the crappy fan shroud brackets...... its also a lot faster to trim a little. but thats just my .02.... your truck definately looks nice though.

Yeah, Matt, you're right about all of that. I don't plan on jumping to the 35s for a little while...I'm gonna wear these Grapplers out a bit first, and install the exhaust and intake. I have plenty time to contemplate body lift or trimming.

What are you guys' suggestions for exhaust? I hear Magnaflow gives a nice, constant rumble and increased rumble on acceleration, but Flowmaster is quieter until acceleration. What's my best bet?

Thanks for all of the feedback, too. Keep it coming!

I still haven't gotten the truck aligned yet, so it's been sitting in my driveway for the last 2 days. I'm afraid to wear the tires weird without an alignment. It's torture. I'm ready to run that baby.

I'm getting it aligned and installing nerf bars on Saturday. I'll update my gallery and all that jazz.

First off, your truck looks great.

Next, when you do the 35's are you prepared to do a gear swap as well?

Is a gear swap absolutely necessary when I put 35s on?

If it is something that I have to do, then yes, I will do a gear swap and become more broke. HAHA!

Yeah, you need to do a gear swap. Does your 4x2 have 3.55's?

Yeah, you're right...it has 3.55s.

Sometimes "ya-gotta-do-whatcha-gotta-do", as they say in N'Awlins, Louisiana.

But I don't plan on making that mod for at least a couple more months. Exhaust and/or bull bar is the next venture on the to-do list. Then, I'm going to go into a full financial recovery, let these tires wear down a bit, and contemplate 35s. Until then, I am more than happy with the new look and feel.
