axle swapping
i was wondering if anyone new offhand if the axles out of my 1999 f350(s409c/l731058k30)6spd man.,7.3,4x4 would work under my 2004 f350(v423f/l731053j05)auto,6.0,4x4. they are both 3.73, but i didn't know if anything is different with the brake parts or hubs on the front axle.i have not checked the axle codes yet, will do that next.
completely different subject:i have a 2005 f350 cc 4x4 dsl auto lwb dwr lariat black /w tan int truck that is a flood truck from katrina.it does not power up, so it does not start. it is in very good condition, but has been flooded.i estimate the milage between 10k-20k from the look of the tires.i figure the truck needs to be completely gone through. all of the interior is reusable, but i would just replace the front seats because of the power and rust on the frame parts.

One issue and I am not sure about this, but the '99- early '01 SD's all had the D50 front axle. The '01.5-'04 SD's changed to the stronger D60.

thanks! i checked and both trucks have the same brake code in the vin, and the same axle code on the id badge in the door pillar. the 99 is an early 99.if the brake parts are different, could i switch out those parts?thanks for any input.
