ok so my tranmission on my 1960 f100 took a very large *****.
its a stock three speed manual and 223 six
im wondering what it is, and what i could use as a bolt on replacement since my clutch is farely new.
its my work truck so i need to throw anything that will bolt up to the bell housing and still reach the drive shaft. and fast i cant be down for too long, and i cant find another three speed. only a wrecked 62 with a 4 speed
this might be a good time to go for a four speed?
would one bolt right up?
thanks
-sam
Where are you located? I have a T-98 4spd/granny in my '64 F-250, currently bolted to a 292 v8. I don't know if it will bolt up or not, but I have an o/d tranny in the mail to put in it.
I'm in Utah, if you're interested drop me a line at the E-mail below, or call at (801) 603-2482 anytime.
I may not be able to get it out until next Mon. though.

Nothing, and I mean nothing, stirs the soul, saying I'm a bad **** like lettin'em rip with a window shaking, fuel gulpin, carbon monoxide belchin, attention gettin, V-oh my LORD!-8!
Sam,
this is a good time to snag that 4 speed out of that 62. Get the bellhousing with it as they are different then the 3 speed.
For a work truck you will never be sorry you made the swap. Those 3 speeds do not belong in a truck. I got a T98 4 speed in my 59 and it is a heavy duty brute.
Rick
I have a 3 spd that came out of a 58. Got it in a package deal when I got my 223 in Tenn. I also have a 4 Spd , a heavy duty 4 spd that came out of a bigger truck, dont know what year. I will get some numbers and post them. Got a 223 head, probably needs valve job. Engine mounts (223). Was going to find a swap meet to sell this stuff. Also have complete set of windsheld chrome for 57-60. Roy.
I used a 64 medium duty trans in my 60 for a while, its a top cover trans with all syncro, only change needed was the drive shaft yoke, it finer spline than the 60, only changed it becuase I went to an overdrive.....
