New Upgrades to be ordered.. Whatcha think?

I put together a list of things I want to do to this new truck.. Jeez after spending 26 grand it doesnt stop LOL..

Here's the list..
  • KC HiLites 5" x 7" Offroad Lights (150watt) $109.90 for 4
  • APC Headlight Bulbs (80w Low/100w High) $19.99
I had them on my F150, cops never cared much LOL
  • Tinted Windows (Gotta be secret) $200.00
Doing 30 front doors, 20 rear doors, 5 Back Glass
  • Autometer Gauge Works A Pillar 3 Gauge $292.99
    (Boost, Pyro, Tranny Temp)
Here's a photo that I shopped to see what it'd look like with the lights. Grant it they are to exact scale but you get the picture.. I decided Rectangle lights since the rest of my lights on the truck are pretty much Square/Rectangle.. Figured Round Lights would severly offset everything.. Whatcha think??

There are a couple pictures of my old truck in my gallery where I had four of the 6x9 KC daylighters installed on a westin sportsman brush guard. They put off a lot of light and I liked the look a lot. However, I found that the hard plastic covers that I kept on them were hard to take off, and would hold in moisture and dirt and the lights would rust out. I wasn't all that pleased with that considering how much they cost. I would probably see if you can't try to find someone who makes them out of plastic or stainless steel so they don't rust so bad.

Good luck though, and nice truck.

Heres a pic with them on my old truck.

Not bad.. I probably wont have covers because I hate having to get out and take em off.. If one got broke it wouldn't kill me to buy another.. I don't think I ever used covers even on my Dodge in college.. It was too much trouble to take them off.. I like the 6x9.. They are BIG.. I may go with 5x7's so I don't block up the radiator too much..

Never had a problem with blocking up the radiator too much, and I had Lund screenfronts in the grill too. It was the V8 though so probably didn't need to breathe as much.

I was told that big off road lights like that legally have to be covered up when travelling on the road, so I usually kept them covered. One of my buddies told me he got pulled over and the cop wouldn't let him drive the truck unless he covered the lights up. They found a bunch of paper sacks and taped them over the lights so he would let them leave. Never really looked into the laws to be sure, but figured it wasn't worth the hassle of getting pulled over so I just covered them.

I'm sure the 5x7s will work well too though.

I just got my three KC's for Christmas. I went with the 6 inch round chrome daylighters. I have a rally style stainless bar and I think the round lights will look great on this style bar. I didn't want a bar on the front that looked like every other truck I see each day. I got the light bar through Cabelas. I haven't had a chance to put the lights on yet but I do have some pics in my gallery of the bar. Check it out. I like the look.

Ah.. I see the bar.. I needed full front to protect.. Course right now Cops are pissing me off.. I have a Rhino Brush Gaurd that has that step bar at the bottom to get into the engine compartment.. It covers half my license plate and they keep stopping me for obstructed plate.. I keep asking them if they have any clue what to do LOL.. I can't help that the bar is right there.. I really do not want to go the ghetto ricer route and use suction cups to attach my LP to the windshield.. I might just push it up and self tap it into the middle of the license plate frame.. It's going to look like crap of course!

I got stopped last year because I had acrylic plate covers on the truck. Got written up with a warning from a statie. I had no idea. Took them off right away. They always seem to catch the little things. He didn't like the idea that they were legal to buy in the state. He wasn't smiling. He won.

The tint would create another issue around here. Don't think we can use anything darker than stock. They will stop us if it is on the two front doors.

Good luck with your bar. The square lights will look great on that bar. I'm that kind of guy who can't seem to get away with anything. These big truck do tend to stand out on the road.

if you do end up going with the big lights, and you plan on keeping the truck for a while, if your lights are blocking as much of the grille as the truck you posted, then you might need to replace your fan clutch with the snow plow clutch so you wont run hot. i wont tell you that you need it because i dont know your driving habbits, but it is something to keep in mind.

As mentioned check with your local DMV about the tinted glass. Some states are pretty preticular on this subject.

You talking about Beer's truck with the 6x9 lights? I don't think 5x7 would block that must Radiator..

Texas Law states for passenger cars.. Tint can be no more then 30 on all windows.. BUT.. There's a clause, SUV's and Trucks have to have just 30 on the front two doors.. Rest of the windows can be limo tented. So I'm going 30 front, 20 rear, 5 back glass..

It's all about how they look not whether they work for now. I'll get to that. The KC's are 200,000 candlepower and 100 watt quartz halogen. Picked them up at Autozone.

It's no longer about the looks. They KC's actually work. We have had some really unusaul weather in New England this year. The temsps got above 60 today. More like late spring temps. The rain stopped and it gave me the opportunity to get out and get the job done. Wired them into my uplifter switches. I really like the results. The pics are in my gallery. Photography is not my thing. That's as good as it is going to get. They're smokin"
