Extra connector behind dash

I pulled the dash yesterday on my 03' F-250 CC to install my Sirius raido and found a wire connector with 4 or 5 wires(sorry didn't count) attached to the dash panel next to the power outlet. It's not connected to anything but there is a specfic clip on the back of the dash to hold it.
Any idea what this is for?
Did ford just use a generic connector and this is useless, or does it belong to an accessory I don't have?

It sounds like you're referring to the aftermarket trailer brake plug. There should have been a plug in a plastic bag in your glovebox that wires to an aftermarket brake controller and then plugs into that connector under the dash.

If it is next to your power point it is probably for a power sliding rear window or adjustable pedals, If you check it for power you will find that one of the wires probably has poer and one has ground making it perfect spot to tap into with your sirius radio.

No the brake controller is plugged in. This plug is on the upper half of dash on passenger side.

Thanks probably the power sliding rear window since my truck doesn't have one.

If the wire bundle had 7 wires, if I remember correctly, they were a combination of black, purple, and light blue wires (I had it apart a while back to wire in the alarm to close that window), then it could be the power window harness.

Exactly where is this connector?

I will soon be adding some interior mods and would like to have a good place for power rather than tapping into other wires or the fuse box. This sounds like a good spot since I don't have a sliding window anyway.

It was clipped to the back of the dash panel right next to the power supply on the passenger side.

What year is your truck?

On an 05 or 06 (and maybe other years, I don't know) there is a 'customer access wire' behind the dash behind the drivers side glove box...

I think it is a generic harness connector for the passenger airbag key turn off. On the Ext Cab and Reg Cap this is usually used in that same area. In the CC, it is not needed as any child or baby seat is expected to be put in the back.

Wink You got it . . .

Correct, it is for a passenger air bag on/off keyed switch. If you wanted to put an air bag on/off key in the truck you would replace the power point w/ that panel and it would plug into that set of wirers.
