Go to Ford and get Motorcraft replacement plugs. I have 125K miles on mine and they're doing just fine. BTW, you don't have wires, just coils on plugs (COP's).
Go with Bosch Platinum + 4 plugs. Changed plugs in my 97 at 100M using Motorcraft and again at 200M with Bosch. Couldn't believe the improved performance after installing the Bosch plugs!, They cost about $6 /$7 each but not bad if you get 100K + before you need to do again
my mechanic told me that bosch plugs are designed for foreign cars and not american cars. he said you probably wont get as much fuel mileage with them.
Just some other info for you. Changing plugs is time-consuming and very difficult on cylinders 4,7 and 8 so allow several hours if it is your first time. Most of the COP failures you will hear about are really boot/spring failures. Since you have to remove the COPs to replace the plugs, you might consider replacing the boots as well since they are about $5 each. I know Oreilly and AutoZone sell them.
When my 5.4 starting misfiring, a stealership told me the coils were bad. I was skeptical but decided to change my plugs at 80K miles and check the coils out. What I found was three cracked boots (right at the plug) and with a mirror I could see one of them had been arcing to the head causing the misfire. Expy ran great after I replaced the boots. Just line up the arrows on the boot and COP.
Also, don't forget the silicone (dielectric) grease on the boots. Very important to ensure high voltage doesn't arc to the head instead of going to the plug. The grease is about $3 and worth the trouble.
