I have a '06 F-150 SCrew that I am unsuccessfully adding a a PowerGate tailgate lock to. Upon connecting all wiring the door locks still worked but the tailgate lock did not. Guess I used incorrect control wire connections. What's new? (I will probably post a separate thread on this subject.)
Now my air bag indicator light is flashing a code at me. Even after I disconnected the wiring for the Powergate. It flashes once, then pause, then flashes nine more times. After repeating a few times, the indicator then remains lit. Any idea what that code is all about so I can chase down the problem?
I don't know if the codes have been changed for the new 04 - 07 body style, but for the 04 heritage F-150 this is what a code 19 means:
The lamp fault code (LFC) #19 is for restraint control module. The code says it is faultly or full of crash data. Again, this is for 04 Heritage and prior model years
Where did you splice the wiring for the tailgate lock? Did you have the battery disconnected when you did this?
And have you tried removing the negative battery cable to clear the fault?
I disconnected the battery before connecting new wiring. I connected to the appropriate colored wires per Pace-Edwards (pink w/black, red w/orange) in the middle (top to bottom) harness bundle behind the driver's side kick panel. I have not yet been able to try disconnecting the ground cable to clear the fault. I will work on it again tonight.
FYI, I used the clip on connectors supplied with the PowerGate, the type that fold around the wire and pearce through the insulation. This clip then provides a blade type quick connection.
