1959 f-250 headers

I am looking at changing out the original 292 for a newer 302.
I want some headers but because of the steering box location and other stuff on the left side, just any header wont do..

Any suggestions on what header would work???

I plan on having dual exhaust.

Thanks in advance.
James

Hirshi, welcome to the boards, When we build streetrods like my forty with a 302 we have to use shorty block huggers in a lot of cases just for the clearance on the steering box. They seem to work out In almost all cases. My 40 had a big block ch*vy in it with shorty headers and everything fit in.

Thanks for the info. John. I'm overwhelmed by the options I have since I'm switching from a 292. "Lost in a sea of Headers"!

Hi, ebay has a new take off set of mustang headers listed under mustang parts these are the shorty headers it seems the big thing to do with mustangs is to take off the factory headers and put on long tubes without the cats. so finding a set of shorty headers shouldn't be a problem. John

Thanks for the direction john. Does it matter which year of
302? I was looking at getting around a 75' longblock, or looking for a junked out car.

The year shouldn't matter all the 289 302 headers are the same bolt pattern just different bends depending on what they were made for but the stock headers for a 94 and 95 mustang should fit just about anything because that engine is so tight in the car the headers are short and close to the block.

If you can't find anything in the yards around you, Sanderson over here on the left coast makes some really tight block huggers to fit almost anything. I'm looking at them for my 351C inna '56 F100. Check out their website for their whole catalog. www.sandersonheaders.com

Thank you all for the information. I'm sure I'll have many
more questions as my pursuit for a running truck continues.
