Here in central Utah, it cost me $200 for vinyl. Yep, cold in winter and hot in summer, but cleans well and looks period. The same guy did my headliner and visors for $250, which inlcuded gluing in blocks to sew to, since the old cardboard uses the little clips. I'm no purist, and I don't miss the non-cleanable surfaces at all. Maybe my upholsterer worked too cheap, he recently closed his shop and went to work on an oil rig.
I paid $325 for a pretty complete re-do with padding fixes and some repaired springs. I went with a fabric. I know, not period. The correct original vinyl or what ever it was, was crap from the get go. Fell apart by 69 or 70 as I recall. For that reason, I feel no duty to try and re-create original in this one instance.
Modern fabrics are tremendously durable and treated so that they don't hold stains nearly as bad as old fabrics did.
Just my opinions. Place I used in KC was Gladstone Auto Trim. Looks good.....
I would like to see the headliners you had done.I am going to have to do mine and am looking for ideas. Not crazy about the shipping premium for the repops.I also have to work aroun the 3 point seat belts I put in.daplumma at hotmail dot com
