At least that is the best way to describe the installation of the Edge. Put on level 2 with no other adjustments and when you hit the throttle the truck now moves like a truck should with 300hp. Driving along at 45mph and hit the throttle and there is no hesitation, it just downshifts and goes. If you have any doubts about getting one of these don't, get $339.00 and call Discount Power Parts. I am a 36 year old father of 2 with another one on the way just to give you some pespective on where this is coming from. I can't wait to get up and go to work in the morning just to drive the truck. And another thing, it got rid of the hesitation I was having at low speeds.
That is good to hear i think its a great product to get even though i dont have one but hear great things about it i think ford finally resolved that throttle problem with the 06/07 trucks
Nice to see another fan of the Edge unit. I have one, as do many others here. I am going to bump the 'Edge Tuning' thread for you. You might see what other people are running, for ideas on custom tunes .
I traded my 04' 250 CC V10 for an 06' 150 XLT Scab with the 5.4, its a great truck, but it has that hesitation thats been talked about. I saw where Dustin1690 said that Ford may have solved the hesitation problem, does anyone know for sure that it's been fixed, or do I need to live with until I get a tuner? Thanks in advance.
55 wagon, I had the same problem, took it (06 screw) in for a few issues (minor) and told them about the hesitation. They re-flashed the computer and it is a lot better. You can still notice it on occasion, but much better than before. I'm still considering the Edge, but my wife is the one who usually drives it and she doesn't have any issues as is. Hope this helps.
Absolutely the best thing you'll ever do to your truck for the price. It's like driving a completely new vehicle, plus you get all the cool gauges,0-60 and 1/4 computer, and OBDII scan-reset tool all-in-one.
Yes, if you leave it in it'll void your warranty, but it takes 5 minutes to take it out without a trace, then just slap it back in when Dealer-McPicky is done with it. Just follow the directions about re-flashing to stock. Discount Power Parts has 'em in stock for $339.00, and you'll get it in 2-3 days.
The Edge sounds real good, but the Rousch Charger I just read about sounds real good also. Decisions, decisions. Looks like the edge will win out due to price. We'll see.
