Hi, I have an 88 BII with what I believe to be the original, or really old shocks. They are toast they give no dampening at all and I need some new ones. I am on a budget and noticed 4wheelparts has a set of procomp es3000's on a supersale. I was wondering if anyone has used these and has any comments about them. I just do everyday driving, no serious offroad. Hoping some new shocks will give better dampening over bumps and a little less sway.
I currently have stock-length Monroe Sensa-Tracks on all 4 corners but am considering the ES1000 or ES3000 Pro Comps due to my Explorer spring swap. I know a lot of people who use Ranchos, Bilsteins, etc. as well as the Pro Comps and I haven't heard anything negative about these shocks and for the money and the amount of time I plan to actually have them on my rig, works for me. You may also want to check out truckperformance.com, they are within 5-10 bucks on either end of 4wheelparts' prices for these and seems like everyone's having sales.
Hello. Excellent price at $33 for those ES3000 shocks at TruckPerformance.com And you can order the boots in a huge array of colors also. Thanks for this sale tip, I'm in the market for some shocks kinda. Are these Ranchos in disguise? Just curious. Thanks again ;-)
No, they're not Rancho's in disguise... most off-road shocks have boots like that, as they usually don't have a "cap" over the rod like most stock-style shocks. I still have to order my set, among other things.
