4 wheel drive
I have never had 4x4 before. how can i tell if it is engaged or not engaged other than the light on my dash. I have heard stories of peoples 4x4 breaking, is there any routine maintence that i should do. I try to use it every now and then so it wont freeze up, but other than that i dont know.

Follow your maintenance schedule, ask a lot of questions here at this site, watch what other people with trucks like yours do to modify them, relax and enjoy your truck

Another way to tell is the most obvious i guess is the increase in traction especially on ice say your on a hill with ice and cant get up slap er into 4x4 and you there yeah go just follow maintence schedule and if you dont use it often use it once in a while to lube everything keep it in good working order...
