The SCT extreme/race tune is the most efficent of all the tunes and is for HP which gives the best MPG if you keep the rpm's south of 2,100/2,000.
Wow, I had no idea that was the case. After what I've read about guys griping about how low they get I figured lead-footing it would get you maybe 10-12 at best. Hmmmmmm...... Have you ever gone easy on the throttle and seen over 20? I know offshore1 posts that he gets 26-28 but he's on coastal flatlands.

My best MPG, hand calculated, was a trip from KC to Lake of the Ozarks, about 169 miles, and I got 20.3.
That was after being in KC Drag Racing and I had blown a turbo boot apart and was coming home with the boot wrapped heavily in duct tape so I wouldn't let the truck build over 10 lbs of boost. I can't get more economy minded than that. 2.5 hour trip ended up taking me 3.5 hours!! I carry spare boots now!!
I have some stuff called "Atomic Tape" that I picked up at the camper show last spring. The vendor had a three-pack with a roll each of black, red and white tape. Though I've never put it to the test it's some sort of hi-tec silicone stuff that you stretch as you wrap it and it bonds to itself. It is supposed to be good up to 700 psi, resist 500F and 8000 volts. I have a roll in the truck along with some other stuff for "McGivering" a fix if needed. Since I have AAA w/ 100 mile towing I usually don't worry too much about getting home...
I have no idea yet how much boost I develop under normal operating conditions(gages are on the way) but since I tend to drive it fairly easy I doubt I have much worries there.

The best I have seen is 18.6 driving 75 or so on the hwy. Haven't taken any real long trips lately so that is all I can tell you about the latest tunes, from last Fall. Also can't go 55 which would helps too as it isn't my nature.
17mpg ,what did you get before the tunes. i get 12.4 whats going on here?
before any of the mods I have put on, I was getting almost 17 around town and highway, best I every got was 18.2 on highway completely empty at 85 mph. After I put larger tires I dropped to 14.8, after SCT and exhaust I now get back into 17. Worst I've ever gotten was 10.1 towing a 30' Pursuit Sportfish boat, boat weight is aroung 18k with out trailer. I have not towed anything as of yet with current mods.
Anyone have trouble uploading the SCT programs? I went to intsall an Xcal2 on a buddies 06 f-250, and the dash told me there was a "TBC fault", and wouldn't let the Xcal access the computer. I have since figgerd out that's an issue with the integrated trailer brake controller. However, it doesn't answer the question:
How the hell do I bypass the TBC? I was thinking of just pulling the TBC fuse, uploading the program, then replacing the fuse. Thoughts?
I had an Xcal2 in my 99 PSD for awhile, but I obviously don't have the factory TBC, so no probs.

did you return your truck to stock? the sct will not program another truck until the original is returned to stock. don't know if that helped you or not.
