just new to the site and could use a little help with the front spring hangers on my 1948 F1. i was wondering if i switched the spring hangers around on the front will it improve the ride any at all. thanks dewey.
You must have been reading an off-road jeep magazine. I hear
those guys do it but never heard of 2wd guys with stock I beam
suspensions doing it. They probably run into trouble when they
use lift kits. Are you having steering problems? Take the u-bolts off of your axle and grab the leaf spring pack and try to
move it side to side. It shouldn't move. If it does, find out
why. I had to replace my rear drivers side hanger because the
pin wore it out. This improved my steering alot.
Thanks alot for your help. I just thought that it was funny that the stationary hangers are at the back of the front axle instead of at the front. I would think that the front axle is trying to work against it self when you hit a bump. Thanks Again Dewey.
