Is Ford going to make the extended cab roomier? My buddy has a 2001 Chevy extended cab and it is soooo much better than the Ford Extended cab. I know that they offer the supercrew, but it would be nice to get more room like the chevy and still have a full-size bed.
Since they're making the standard-cab a little bigger, it's very possible that the Supercab will be larger, too. Nothing confirmed yet- I'll post any info as soon as it's available.
I agree, I'm 6'3" tall and have a rough time in the back of the current Supercab F150. Something has to be done before I get a new truck. I looked at the Supercrew, but I dont like the wimpy Tranny in them.
95 Ford F150 XLT 4X4 --Superchip, K&N, Flowmaster full dual exhaust (no cats), Hard tanneau, Brush guard, lens covers, ventshades, Lund Moonvisor, Lund intorceptor, kick A$$ stereo!
i was in to my dealer resently returning my rental and talked to the salesman i've delt with he said the new 2004 F150's are larger all around they sit higher and the cab is bigger also the pic on this site is almost if not very acurate..... they just had a show in the states (not sure where) and they revealed the 2004's... look alot more like the superduties now and the interior has changed quit a bit... have seen pics from the show and its not a concept.... just couldnt convince him for 1 pic though.... maybe if i tell em i'll take a 2004 he'll give a pic to me ?? LOL
Hey Superpleased, I couldn't agree more. I've got a '96 250 ext cab; my girlfriend has a 2001 Silverado...MUCH more comfortable for two teenage boys. I even test drove a Super Duty recently... it looked bigger, but the rear seat was even more cramped than my '96, and there were no cupholders back there, on an XLT! My '96 has got those too. At least the SD had doors...but I think the Chubbies have set the standard for extended cabs. The Super crews are comfortable, but what can you really do with a 5 foot bed?

Just curious what "looks" wimpy about the SCrew transmission. I don't see anything right off-hand, or am I missing something?
Let's be honest, there is nothing "wimpy" wbout the SCrew transmission, it is the same tranny that is in all the other F-150's, except the Lightning, and some of the 4x4's. If there was a problem with that transmission wouldn't we know it by now? Hmmm? Mine has been great. If the SCrew is too heavy for that transmission when it is running empty, wouldn't people be grenading these things all over the world when they have a heavily loaded regular cab or super-cab, that is towing a trailer at the same time? Winpy indeed...

It's 5 1/2' acutlly, and you can do anything you would do with a Super-cab F-150 Flareside. They share the same chassis. When combined with the bed-extender it is actually longer than the fleetside or flare side bed. No you can't haul plywood, or any other 8' foot lumber without lowering the tailgate, but wait neither can you... oh well. People have reported hauling 10' pipe, and other odd material with SCrew's they just have to plan a little more. No big deal. Besides if load is too big most people would just rather find a trailer anyway. It is safer for them and everyone else on the road andr the truck.:-X12

Just got my 2004 that I had ordered in and man it is huge. On the drive home from the dealer I was looking down into the Z71's and other "mini" fullsize 4X4's. I don't think anyone will be disappointed!
