Has anyone ever customized the gauge panel to install your own set of gauges? If so, I would like some ideas on how to do it. I thought it would be pretty cool to install some custom gauges, but I don't want to do a hack job either. Thanks.
Yup, what Toruque said. If you go with a flat panel, it has to be on the correct angle or the gauges are worthless. Got a pic of mine in my gallery, too.
Hey, thanks for the replies. Definately some great ideas. I never thought about the flat panel being a bad angle to read the gauges. I'll keep that in mind. Shortbed1 and Dave, great work on your panel. Love the trucks!!!

You can gut an existing panel and install some gauges, it's drawback is how much room you have with the three sections.
The F series in australia came without the ribs which would make a great platform to gut and put gauges behind the lens.
I like that Blue Oval Panel as well. Kind of expensive though, and that's just for the insert and not the gauges But, I do think it would be the easiest and cleanest way to install some custom gauges but keep the instrument panel bezel which I do want. It would be nice to have all the gauges you need in that one area where they should be and not somewhere else like down under your dash or something. Also, I have A/C, so I am limited in cutting out holes in my dash for guages which I thought about also. I've got some time before I get to that point on installing gauges, so I may just start playing around with some mock ups and see what I can do.

Thanks, I got the inside of the cab painted now, too. Next time I get out of my shop and to the paint shop I'm going to get some pics and update my gallery. Did the dash, console, and door panels in Ford Bright Red and the rest of the cab in Ford Performance white. Really getting anxious to get the rest of the pickup painted and put together now.!!!!!!
Hey, Bucks77 if you look close u'll see that i used the pieces from auto meter to set the gauges at an angle. I don't have any problem seeing the gauges. Of course my tach and speedo are the 5" ones so there large enough to see any way.
