02 F150 Electrical?
Okay,
Here's the Deal...I have an '02 F150 SuperCerw XLT w/ the 5.4 Triton..Yesterday morning I noticed some water dripping from the top of the windshield. I knew I had to get it fixed but it appeared to bt dripping LIGHTY onto the floor board and not the dash, so being a Holiday weekend I assumed I would be safe to wait in getting this fixed. Well 5 hours later in the day, I cam out and my battery was completely dead. I attached my battery charger, but my interior lights kept going on & off and my overhead console and climate control stayed on. This morning, I took the battery to Autozone and had it tested which checked out good.
I returned home and reconnected the battery...Again, My overhead console and climate control remain on.....I have now pulled the fuses for these items to HOPEFULLY keep from draining the battery.
Question is...Would it be possible that water somehow got to a relay under the dash on the passenger side and caused it to short? If so, any clue as to which one it is and where it is?
I know this is a long shot, but I do appreciate any help at this time.
Thanks
Tim
Looks like the problem may have worked itself out....Quit raining last night, sun came out today and this afternoon my two items turned off with the key.
I do have a place coming to replace the windsheild though to help avoid future problems. I will keep an eye on everything else as well, if things start acting up, I will go ahead and replace that GEM relay.
Thanks again
Tim
