Are these headers Goood??

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

These are from Summit, Hedman makes them. The flange is only 1/4 thick, but will that be good enough? How thick are the stock manifolds? I am in a price crunch, I dont know which ones to get but am sick and tire of not having any. Will these hold up long enough, and if there under 5 year warrnaty, will they break in that period? Will these provide more torque and horsepower, and allow me to put on the bigger throttle body?

I would gasket port the heads to match the headers and yes you will definitely feel an increase in power and performance. I wasn't paying attention as to whether you were buying from an FTE Sponsor as most give a discount I believe. Is this correct guy's?

I answered your question once and it got deleted while I was posting it so I will try again. FTE is the site you are on. Gasket porting: This is how I do it. I lightly bolt the new gasket that will come with your headers to the head and or the header. I use a pneumatic cut of tool with a pointed grinding stone in it and remove any material up to the gasket on both the head and headers as needed. This creates an even flow without turbulence and makes for a smother running engine. Any body dose it different please enlighten me.

I see, good point. I wont be the one doing the install, but the guy who said he will put them, do you think he would do it, hes a certified exhaust shop, would that be against regulations for him to try and do that?

I don't think so as it helps fuel economy and emissions as the fuel mix flows better. And he should be able to do it. If he doesnt understand the question (gasket porting) than go to another shop.

Good point. You have been a deep help. I am excited to get these ****'s on here, I want to hear this thing scream. One question, what is the biggest pipe I can get after the headers? I know its a 3 inch collector at the Y-pipe, but could run like a 4 inch pipe, or can no one mandrel bend that? i am sad to only get a three inch pipe, doesn seem big enogh, or is it? Do they make a Flowmaster muffler that would yield a 3 inch pipe or would it need to be fabircated into it?

3 inch is fine. And mufflers are availible. I use 2.5 inch strait pipes with no mufflers as I like the sound.

Is straight piped mean catback? Or does it mean taking pipes right off the headers and follwing it all the way to the back? When I get my headers installed, could I get someone to run serperate 3 inch pipes up to each headers and have them bring it straight back and behind the right wheel. Would that look weird having two 3 inch pipe behind the right wheel? Would I have to run dubble cats?

I don't run no cats. Just pipe from header out under bumper. Use 2.5 inch to give a little back presser. Runs smooth and not that loud in town unless standing on it. Ya should here her cackle when down shifting.

That ironic man, I was going to ask you about that. I went to my exhaust shop today, and my guy said it would be an absolute bitch to install headers, and if he was, he said he do shorty ones, not long tube. So, we came up with an idea to run true duals straight back from each manifold. Were going to run two serperate 3 inch pipe into two cats, two mufflers, and uinderneath rear bumper. I think that will be amazing! Will there be any backpressure problems, and what are some good mufflers. I have a 40series now, but what about Dynomax Ultraflows, aret those meaner?
