Platinum Edition?

Hey Super Duty guys.

I gots a question for ya all.

What's a "platinum edition"? I was at Sonic a little bit ago and saw one. Was a light grey or silver with a dark grey sorta gun-metalish top. F-250, short bed, crew cab, Lariat, 4x4. Looked pretty dang good.

Special package or something? I hadn't seen one before.

I saw one a few years ago at a truck show here in Ontario. It was a sharp looking truck. I am pretty sure it is just an appearance package.

I pretty sure it a special model producted just to mark the first 1,000,000 super duty made/sold. I `m think there were only so many made, very sharp truck!!

My buddy has one, he's extremely proud of it. He told me they were only made in 2001 and only a certain amount were made.

I was told they were only sold in Texas and Ok.The two largest truck markets,I can not verify that but I was always very fond of them when we were building them.

It was a Special Edition--sort of like the LE was--not very many made. Was two-tone silver, light over dark. Distinguishing marks were the 'acetoned' 250 badges and the factory sunvisor.
