I would like to know if anyone has a book on any and all options including pictures of the 57-60 trucks including the panels. Also how rare is a alt. that came off a 60 F250 4x4 w/dc 110 outlets w/volt meter. This truck was a Calif. Div. of Forestry unit. I have found nothing on this truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
Hi, I have several books that have pictures, list options, etc. for the '57-'60 trucks including panels. Here are a few:
"Ford Pickups 1957-67" published by "motorbooks international" (This is a great book!)
'59 Ford truck shop manual
'59 Ford truck Parts and accessories catalog
'57-'60 various Ford truck Sales brochures
Some of these items are available on this website's Online store. Others I had purchased through E-bay. As far as the '60 alternator, I don't know how "rare" they were, but my '59 F250 has one too.

Kenny I'm mainly interested in options for the F250 4x4 and the 59 panel. The outlets that came with the alt. has a little box that bolts to the steering column. It has 2 110's a screw in fuse and a volt meter type gauge with a plastic cover over the gauge. It is dc current only. I'm currently in the process of putting 59 F250 4x4 running gear under the panel. The only modifications to the running gear will be a 400 HP 73 390 using original motor mounts and changing from a 4spd to a 5spd (Clark). I like your choice of trucks. I have 2 58 F100 2wd, 2 59 panels, a 60 2wd F100, and a 59 F250 4x4 including another frame and running gear. Thanks alot for the info. Which book do you recommend would be the best?
fordman, If I had to choose, I would definately go for the first book that I mentioned. Also for the panel, I would take a look on E-bay for a "Ford '59 light duty trucks F-100 * F-250* F-350 sales brochure". It has a two page spread on the '59 panel such with pictures, dimensions, list of standard panel features, list of custom panel features, floor construction, etc. I picked mine up for $6.00. Hope this helps.

Whoops, I forgot about the alternator. The "box and gauge" sounds like an aftermarket item to me. I also looked but I couldn't find one in my '59 Ford truck parts catalog. My truck has the original ammeter gauge right in the instrument panel, that matches all my other gauges (part # B9A 10850-A).
