Transmission mounting

My truck 57 F100 272 3spd standard uses the bellhousing as both rear engine mount and transmission mount. I am changing to a FMX transmission using the Ford O Matic bellhousing from a 57 Fairlane and a supercharged 312 that should have easy 400 hp. The Fairlane used a rear trans mount on the tailshaft and does not have a bellhousing mount. Transmission crossmembers to adapt this to the 57 F100 frame are available. This brings up several questions:

1. Will I need additional support at the rear of the motor?

2. Should I use the side mount motor mounts as in the car?

3. If I use the side mounts should I delete the front mount?

4. Does anyone know of a bolt in front crossmember that the 312
would mount to?

5. Will the choice of front or side motor mounts depend on which
type of bellhousing (aluminum or cast iron) that I use?

6. Are there Ford O Matic bellhousings that use the bellhousing
mounts?

7. If I use bellhousing mount will that give enough support for
the back of the transmission?

8. How did Ford do this when they put a automatic in the truck
in the 57 - 60?

There is strength in numbers and I know that a lot of people will read this. I want to here from everybody!!

Many thanks
Charles
