Painless wiring harness
Has anyone ever installed a wiring harness from this company? Mine has so many ghost's in it that finding the problems is'nt worth my time. I would rather install a new wiring harness and get er done. The problems are too long to list and I am not an electrician, just want my truck to work. 86 4x4 swb dual tanks, cruise control that dont work etc...

Welcome to FTE. I hear painless is good until you go to the universal harness
then it's not so painless,but that will be true of any universal harness.
I have been looking at EZWiring kit which is less than 1/2 the price of painless kit. I would check with other companies like Ron Franics wiring and there's one or two others I can't remember they might have a plug & play harness

I have not installed one yet, but have been looking at geting one. I just got the book Hot Rod Wiring from painless it tells you all about how to do the job. I priced the harness for my truck, It works for the 67-77 ford trucks $428.38 if i get it though O'reillys auto parts. They do not make a harness for the 80s truck. but they do have a universal truck harness. 12 circuit #10104 or 18 circuit #10204

Thanks guy's I work outta town only home on weekends for now. I will look into all of the advice given but do want to stay away from the UNIVERSAL type of parts as they usually are a pain to adapt. Went to the centechwire site. They offer a k-40F harness for 66 and up vehicles but I need to get with them and see if their harness is specifically built for my year/model. Thanks, Jerry
Try Ron Francis.They have year specific harneses.
