I just bought a 1997 F250 XLT Supercab 7.3 4x4 5speed 4.10 rear end with the long bed that has 99300 miles.
I puchased it to replace a 3/4 suburban 454 4.10 that I was using to pull a toy hauler.
The truck I bought is amazingly clean and drives awesome. It is completely bone stock and I bought it from the original owner.
I am going to do some searches on here to find out what mods I should do to get more power, reliability and efficiency out of the truck.
In the meatime, I am going to be looking for a camper shell top to put on the truck so that I can have my dogs back there when I travel. Otherwise, when they see another dog or cat or squirrel or just about anything, they'll jump out of the damn truck and go say "hi".
So if any of you know of somebody who has a camper shell or if you have one, let me know.
My new truck also has a lumber rack and a very nice, diamond plate locking tool box that I will be removing. I'd love to trade these items for or towards a camper shell, or will be selling them.
I live in the northern california foot hills and would be willing to travel a reasonable distance for a good deal on camper shell.
I have been looking on ebay, but for some reason all I can find for this truck is stuff to make the tail lights look gay.
I have done ebay searches like
"1997 ford 250"
"1997 PSD"
"1997 ford power stroke"
etc, etc.
I'll keep looking. If you can see that I am doing something wrong with my seach strings to find a camper shell for my truck, feel free to point it out!!!
