Replacing mirror lenses

Hey guys, I recently cracked my passenger side mirror turn signal lens and I just received my replacement. However, the instructions are very vague. It states to push down on the plastic tabs located behind the top larger mirror to release the front mirror cover. I have located the tabs but pushing down on them don't do anything. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

You have to pull on the front mirror cover as you push down on the tabs, once it disconnects. Just unplug the two wire plug, then switch out the lense.

Well at least the cussing part has been above and beyond the call of duty, but still to no avail. As far as pulling on the front mirror cover, I assume you are talking about the front portion of the mirror where there is a cutout line on the part that should come off. Correct? How do you pull on it cuz I can't even get a nail in there to pull. Maybe a flathead screwdriver may do the trick or what? These tabs are really pissing me off!!!!! Oh yea, I forgot, do you guys push down on the two top tabs at the same time. cuz its kinda hard to manipulate the mirror to get to the tabs. I'm tired

Well, finally, its done. After much work and further cussing, its completed. Thanks for your input. But those clips and tabs sure have a few dings on them.

I learned the hard way, I took both mirrors off breaking the small one during the process. Took screws out, totally dismantling the entire mirror, just to find out about the tabs. I was changing the covers to the painted ones.
