alright so i went to do my rear drum brakes making sure i had every right part. i got the passenger side on and the new drum is really stiff the old drum it will turn. the driver side sucks its so stiff it takes so much effort to put the drum on then even after putting the wheel on i cant even spin it.
Do you have the brake adjusters screwed in so they are short, not extended. Do you have the brake shoes on the right way. Short shoe towards the front of the vehicle?
Is you're parking brake set?
Bob
you probably need to adjust you're e-brake. I had to on my 1986. they were still a little hard to turn, just drive'em off it realy dosnt kill your gas millage.

You're brake shoes should be two different lengths on the brake matereial itself. Look closely, the metal should be the same size.
The brakeshoe with the shorter brake material should face the front of the vehicle.
You mentioned that you're old brake drums would turn when on the bronco. Get a good measurment, are they the right drums?
Bob
Do not "drive them off" you need to adjust them right (just a slight drag when turned by hand). Driving them off will cause severe heating and warping of the drum. The short shoe goes to the front and the long shoe to the rear. Use a brake spoon to adjust them after the drum is on (you can use a flat srewdriver but it is a pain) spinning the drum often to check the drag. Before you put the wheel back on pump the brakes a couple times and recheck the drag. put the tires on and take it for a test drive to check them out. Good luck.
