17 inch rims?

17 inch rims?
I'm looking at getting some 17 inch wheels for my 66 SWB. I done some searching and it looks like the widest for the rear might be a 17x9? I would like to know what backspacing everyone is running, I don't want the fronts to stick out the side more than the rears. Will a 17x8 front and 17x9 rear work? Also what sizes tires would work?

Thanks,

Hey Jason, Welcome to Here you'll get information on all your slick's question including the one your asking.
I'm running 17's on my truck with 8" in front and 10" in rear. As for tire size mine are 235/45-17 in front and 285/40-17 in rear my back spacing is 4.5 View my gallery to see how sweet she looks. Oh did I mention that the rims are crager's? old school look with spinner knock off's.
